6x8 linoleum print. i need a printing press, but i would a) have nowhere to put it and b) not be able to afford one cause they're like $500 and up. so you get shoddily unevenly printed print. this was the last in a series of five and the best that came out :C NEEDS MOAR BLACK

That's an amazing piece of work there. I had mixed feelings about the linoleum block cutting process and the results that I got. I think I just wanted more time to work with it and try to get a textured look...and my teacher didn't spend long with it.
That and I was stabbed with a linoleum cutter in high school. >.>

i stabbed myself twice while doing this badly enough to put me in shock and almost made me pass out. fun!!
it does take a lot of time to do, and i've actually done very little lino printing outside of class, but the good thing about not doing it for class is you can take your time with it. for me it teaches patience and i need that.

you can a) heat up the linoleum so it carves easier and has less of a chance of catching and then slipping and stabbing your hand, b) making sure you always position your hand so taht the cutter does not cut towards it, and c) get some kind of holdy-easel-thing or clipboard to make sure it stays while you cut so you don't have to hold it with your other hand. and wear goggles XD;
