Took this pic yesterday. This is what Diamond Head looked like after the heavy rain we had last week. According to a friend, it probably would have looked greener had the halekoa growing on the side not been removed. Punchbowl is REALLY green but the only good vantage point to get any photos is from the freeway, which is impossible to do when driving.

Heh... according to wikipedia, Diamond Head got its name because British sailors in the 19th century mistook calcite crystals embedded in the rock for diamonds.
If you wanna visit let me know. Unfortunately I can't provide crash space, but I have no problems playing tour guide. :)
