A rainswept back alley shrouded in swirls of fog. Swift pattering of paws on the cold, filthy pavement. A wordless snarl. A shot rings out - and hit mouse fades into the shadows, another cat left in a widening pool of its own blood.


The dead cat, that's my kitty Aloysia (Aly Cat, get it?) when she was considerably smaller and plumper. I took the pic with a flash so she was brightly lit from the front. It took a lot of dodge&burn to make her seem backlit. Aly Cat has a hell of a sob story. My sister's coworker found Aly and her sister Gracie in a taped-closed box that had been thrown in a dumpster!
