Sorry for the poor quality of this pic but it will give you the idea. I had to take the pic like this with my phone because any further away and its hard to see the small ring. But anyway, a friend handed me a bag of the little tiny rings on the right side and asked me to make a couple very small pieces with them. I also made a 10 X 10 patch with them which came out the same size as the pad of my thumb (about 1 inch X 1 inch). That's how small these things are! As compared to my usual size rings (middle) there is an obvious and big difference. But I'm looking for input here. Because of the price of these things I would almost have to sell it as the same price per ring as the bigger rings but if doing a patch, you could have 5 times the number of rings per square area and thus 5 times the definition in the picture for a patch of the same size as the bigger ring. Plus there would be a lot more flexibility and it would also be a bit lighter in weight. Drawback is that it would take me 5 times as long to make, take 5 times the material (at least in ring count) and would be relatively delicate. These tiny rings have good strength for what they are and as a patch they seem to be quite resilient but i wouldnt suggest that you grab it by the edges and pull by any means. So what do you guys think? would anyone be interested in commissioning an inlay using this smaller size?

they are pretty good on their own but yah i agree with all of that. welded would be stronger but welding something thats so small you have to use tweezer nosed pliers on them would be next to impossible. i dont think there would be any issues with it staying together and strong but again, it wouldnt sand up to being abused.if you attached it to a bag or something I bet it would fare just fine with no issues.
