hmmmm maybe think about the transition of fur to not-fur and scales to no-scales and the purpose of the forms and how they'd apply to the lifestyle of the animal. Form following function type stuff :)

I think the colors look good together, I'd keep those the same! The warms with that gray, it's just tasty and tasteful :D
And you got some good shapes going on in the silhouette
