Bawlz! First thing that comes to my mind are lots of jokes to do with balls...none of them very appropiate...however these beaut balls are for the eating and they hale from the kitchens of
KajitoraTaotsu
Play on words, the only meat in this recipe is bacon. No worries, no goats were neutered for the dish xD
Originally, the recipe is called "Goat cheese pops w/herbs, pecans, and bacon; as they were stuck onto sticks, but I didn't have any sticks for such and didn't care to buy any.
Goat Balls
Ingredients:
-4 oz goat cheese
-8 oz cream cheese
-2 tbsp. chopped basil or thyme, divided (I did basil, may try thyme next time, or you could do a mix of both!)
-cracked black pepper (which I just realized I forgot when I made it! D: No wonder it tasted good, but needed something else..I think I even thought of it for adding..)
-6 slices of bacon, precooked (I used bacon bits, had a short amount of time, and had 'em at hand. They worked just fine XD )
-1/4 cup crushed/chopped pecans
Instructions:
--Pour cream cheese, goat cheese, and one tbsp. of herbs into a food processor and pulse until all of the ingredients are combined. (I do not own a processor, as they are expensive and I am poor. So instead, I put the unmixed ingredients in the microwave for about 15 seconds, and then used a fork and hand mixed em. Works like a charm~)
--Form the mixture into small balls and place them on a plate. Place into the refrigerator and cool for 30 minutes.
--Clean out processor and place bacon, 1 tbsp of the herbs, and the pecans into the processor. Pulse until the ingredients are fine and crumbled.
--Take the cheese balls and roll them in the bacon mixture. (dont be afraid to exert a little bit of force on the cheese to get the "breading" to coat the cheese.)
--Put them back into the fridge until ready to serve. Enjoy!
These are quite interesting. Probably because I needed to add black pepper, the flavor of this wasn't fully what I expected, but wasn't bad either. Just something different for a small appetizer of sorts. When I made this, the total was about 14 balls.
Okay, now you can make the snorty, gigglefits over them being balls.
