If she intends to goanywhere near the Neutral Zones, or anywhere else where there's even a remote chance she might be attacked she'd better have a very heavy escort... at least three Constitution-class heavy cruisers with appropriate screening elements...

Okay, then, the ideal escort for an unarmed hospital ship in and around the Neutral Zones, the Gorn DMZ and Orion territory would be one Federation-class DN, three Constitution-class CAs, and appropriate screening units for a task force of this size and the Hell if it irritates the neighbors (ie. the Klingons and the Romulans)...

Forgot the Gorn and the Orions, though I think the Gorn would leave a marked hospital ship alone, as would the Klingons, the Romulans and the Orions, OTOH, well, I don't think so.

I take it the Hospital Pods are modified cargo pods hanging off the standard saucer section? Or are the cylinderical pods on horizontal booms stuck out cross ways from the transverse section?
