Lately, I started getting back into a favorite webcomic called Deer Me which is actually a pretty amusing series. Deer Me is centered around the mishaps of three anthro roomates: Viana (a white-tailed doe), Thomas (a white-tailed buck), and Velvet (a horse). Here we have Viana, easily the best character of the webcomic mostly due to the fact that she is badass and doesn't take crap. Granted, her rage does get a bit out of control and she can be quite aggressive over the smallest things, but nonetheless, she is still quite badass. And while I'm not normally into cervines, I have to admit that Viana is cute.

This particular pose of hers is based off a comic scene wherein she was at her workplace Bubbling Beauty and Bath (a Bath & Body Works stand-in). That sorrowful look of hers really gets to me and I was inspired to make a fanart piece of it. I honestly have no idea why this ended up becoming a wallpaper. Maybe to emphasize her sadness? Maybe to show more of that nice shade of orange? Maybe to be more than just a simple bust-shot? I dunno. I'm content.

I went back and forth between listening to Psyche Origami’s “No Lines, No Waiting” and Prefuse 73’s “Storm Returns” as I made this piece. Truly there is something about [adult swim] bumper songs and pieces that make working with art a nice experience.
