I've come to realize one little problem about myself:
I'm not good at some competitions at all.
Competitions that are based on slight teasings or on straightforward "fuck you in the face" -attitudes tends to leave a bitter aftertaste which then will bother me for a long time, which is why I tend to either skip competing at all or try to get out from the competitions unless they reach a certain level of friendliness or good spirits for everyone. Or testing how good you are at an overall level without any forms of grudges or attitudes of trying to make someone feel like a loser on purpose.
Third option would be eliminating all competers, since they tend to be fucktards or won't quit the whole competition-idea. But that would be immoral and against the law in real life (and I'm no good "physical fighter" in reality either).

That and thousands of other killing-spree-mass-murder-genocidal -based methods on how to kill/destroy a living being when tried to challenge for a competition for grudges, vengeance and just to brag who's the boss.
Kill all competitions - the cycle of vendetta will never be born and you can enjoy your life.

Oh and solves alot of problems you may encounter in real life as well: jealousy, debts, robbery, blackmailing, et cetra...
To make it easier, imagine that they are your stress balls that you can harm any way possible. They tend to work properly than the stress balls themselves.

I tend to not compete that much because I turn into the "must win at all costs" guy, when I'm normally pretty passive. Kind of applies to anything I stand a chance at: fighting games, card games, etc and then it leaves a bad feeling in me. Friendly competitions are nice all, but have a chance at glong downhill depending on who's in it.
Mine, like mentioned, is different: I tend to be a rather sore loser and can't take the "mockery" or jokes of my loss quite well in if it happens in bad atmospheres or repeatedly without ever getting out from a spot you're cornered in (even if you realized you had to try different ways).
I know that one all too well. Fighters tend to bring out the sore loser in me. Normally I just try to laugh it off and figure out what I did wrong or could have tried, but if the guy I can even get a round off of is acting like an ass, heads might roll or I just silently fume. Wors thing is getting your ass kicked and learning nothing out of it in the process.
And then the competitions outside of games which are even more frustrating. Even if it were meant to be to cheer up the joking character in you, on a bad time/on a bad topic/on a bad thing you don't like/on a bad mood it just feels like you've just been fuck you'd in the face, because *insert joke that has something to do with a thing in you that the joker wanted to crack you up with*.
I've noticed that agreeing or sharing "supportive" (or rant-topic -supporting) thoughts helps as well - makes you feel like you are at least not the only one who feels like how the ranter usually feels.
Too bad I have yet to experience that when I seriously do get into that state of aggression: most seems to quickly escape because "oh god, it's ranttouretteszilla, run for the hills!"
