Last fall a gigantic writing spider made a web out by the carport of our rental house. At first I was terrified (natural, instinctive reaction) but since the web wasn't actually in anyone's way we left it up, and as the days passed I began to feel a weird sense of fondness for the spider, as if it were a new pet. One day I got home and was delighted to see a teeny weeny male spider courting the (obviously female) writing spider - it was friggin' adorable, he was huddled in a corner of the web trying not to make her angry. XD The very next day he was gone. :P
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that spiders can be neat if you give them a chance.

Around here most of the spiders are either the writing spiders, wolf spiders, jumping spiders, or those neat little spiders - I dunno what they're called, but they always like to nest in a particular kind of dense bush used in hedges around here, and they build real teeny, densely-woven webs with a tunnel in the corner they hide in. It's so adorable cause when you look at them they scurry back into their holes. X3
The other day I was at Belk, and in one of their outside columns a crack had formed in the plaster and a hunting spider had built a nest inside it. He/She was sitting outside it, watching for bugs. It was kind of adorable because he was incredibly fuzzy! X3
