I actually honestly remember doing thsi for real and being utterly astounded when I was first one found. I remember thinking my cousin (who was the seeker) was really really clever for finding my hiding place LOL. Ahhh to be that niave again.

I used to hide under the blankets. For some reason it never worked. Then I was barred from hiding under my bed when I got overheated and nearly passed out.
I finally found the absolute best hiding place ever though. Buried in my huge pile of stuffed animals. :D It worked for E.T. and it worked for me. LOL

I had actually read somewhere that toddlers and babies have no real sense of awareness outside themselves. For example, an experiment had one doll hide a cookie and then a second doll came in and the kid was asked where the second doll should look for the cookie and of course they point to where its hidden because they don't get that other people would have different knowledge than they do. They saw the first doll hide the cookie so why wouldn't the second doll know too?
In the same way, the 'if I can't see them, they can't see me' idea is SO CUTE until they realize it doesn't work that way XD
