OMIGOD BACKGROUNDS! WHAT WITCHERY IS THIS!? Actually, they're there to designate the real world, stuff in my head'll still just be floating in white. NEAT, YES?
So this strip marks our shiny new name change, from "Qui a Coupe le Fromage?" ("Who Cut the Cheese?), to "It's Almost Tuesday". Why "It's Almost Tuesday", you say? I'm glad you asked! ("But...I didn't ask...") The other day, on the Twitters, I was talking to my friend, who pointed out that it was almost Tuesday, as that's the day comic is posted, and she's been fangirling. Cuz she's awesome. Anyway, the manner in which she did this struck me as SUFFICIENTLY AWESOME. And because it made me really want #ItsAlmostTuesday to trend. Since it was SO AWESOME, I decided to change the name of the comic to it. So, sadly, the comic is no longer named by a vague Freakazoid reference, but is apparently much more pronounceable, at least to those unfamiliar with "Frenching With Freakazoid".
As for the comic itself...I'm actually really happy with those backgrounds. The stuff behind LG (or "Little Girl" <-- name changed to protect...well...ME.) is based on my driveway at my old house. RAILROAD TIES, BITCHES! I dunno, I like it. It may be incomprehensible to everyone else, though. *shrug*
The stuff behind Lightning, the unicorn, (names are revealed in the next comic, you're not missing this information yet) I just kinda pulled outta my ass. I dunno. It works, but I like it less. Possibly it's just the lack of yellow stripeyness.
Character stuff...Apparently I draw eyes perplexingly? I dunno, this is just something I was told about this page while penciling, by my friend Kilani. *shrug* Something about how triangular they are. I dunno. For the style on LG here, I kinda drew from how eyes look in X-Men: Evolution. The rest of her face style is based on an older style I used in high school and early college. I needed something I was familiar with, and thus could throw out relatively quickly. Surprise, LG's wearing blue.
Interesting note, I was nowhere near that cute at that age. Glasses, braces, and my hair pulled back severely. I did go through puberty in forth grade, though, which is why the ten-year-old has bewbs. Even if they're small ones.
AND THAT, I THINK, IS ENOUGH FOR THAT!
