New ID photo...with a wee version of Da Vinci's Horse. :)
This was actually taken by
Kaijawitch, but I shall use it as an ID picture. :)
Oncacrotta and Kaijawitch and I were at the Frederick Meijer Gardens recently (dubbed the Plant Zoo by Oncacrotta) and I figured hiding behind one of their horse sculptures would be good.
The horse is an eighteen inch version of the Horse. It is inspired by Da Vinci and the real horse is EFFIN' HUGE. It is like 20+ feet tall. HUGE!!!

Frankly I feel really lucky to live within an hour's drive from this amazing place. I love it there. :)

So the story goes, someone who worked at the Gardens witnessed a group of visually impaired students trying to grasp the scope of the Horse, and felt it wasn't right, so they installed an eight-foot version of the horse, and the eighteen-inch version which you can touch and pet and feel all the little details. :3
Well crap.
If there is an airport near you, something to consider is how desperate the air travel industry is for passengers...you can often get relatively cheap fare, even round trip, if you don't mind odd take-off or landing times. :) And cheap motels are all over, plus there's a crap-tonne of cool shit here in Michigan. :) The Frederik Meijer Gardens are so huge that seeing it all in one day is a little unrealistic, so there's at least two days of awesomeness...and there's other stuff 'round here, too. ;)
Maybe save up for a Michigan vacation! Our beaches are way nicer and a lot less crowded and nasty than most in Florida. ;) Though I admit I'm a little biased, LOL!!!

Yep, that one behind me is the 8-foot-tall replica. :D
I have a bunch more photos here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?.....971&type=3
Most are of the Horse and the two smaller replicas. :) It's actually quite a story, how the Da Vinci Horse came to stand here in Western Michigan. :D
