But isn't that true of most businesses?
I'm thinking about buying ArtRage - anyone have any input on that who's paid for it? Worth it?
I think just being able to do layers would be enough for me, but I want input from people who've forked out the cash.

I worked at Wal-Mart's 1-hour photo lab a long time ago. I worked there for two years. You know what? I didn't hate my customers.
I hated my coworkers. 95% of the time customers had a complaint, it was because an employee screwed up, such as, taking in 12 rolls of film for 1-hour service, then going on break. I HATED THOSE TWO MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN THAT TOOK THEIR BREAK AT THE SAME TIME AND LEFT ME ALONE. Of course the customers are going to be pissed! How are they supposed to know how many rolls of film the machine can process in an hour?
God, I hated retail. I hated everything about it -- except the customers. I felt sorry for them.

I can't imagine working at Wal-Mart would be even remotely enjoyable, but you must have gotten a good filter between you and most of the crazies from:
A) Not living in the south.
B) Working at the 1-hour photo lab.
Employees can be a pain in the ass--there are very few competent people where I work and it SUCKS dealing with angry customers who are rightfully pissed.

That's why, after 5.8 years of manning the refund counter, I asked my new employer to NOT make me be at the registers most of the time. I work the fitting rooms most of the time, and it's okay. I prefer working the men's clothing department, though, because nobody ever talks to me there.
I pissed myself when I found out how cheap ArtRage was.
I still think they are being too nice.
It's probably the single best piece of software you can buy for $25. I dare you to walk into Staples with $25 and walk out with anything better than a three thousand language universal translator (system requirements: NT 4.0) or crappy adventure game (DirectX 4.0 required)
