I'm utterly surprised no one has addressed how delightful this piece is. I love how you increased the contrast of the texture with the darker shadows. My guess is you used an overlay/screen? The sitting gesture is believable, and relatively dynamic for a stationary pose because of the asymmetry in her posture. Your coloring and shading appeals to me because I love it when folks carve their shapes and lines out back and forth to create grit like a wood block in some ways.

Bah, thanks man! I was thinking if I were sitting, worried about something, and covered in fuzz, I'd probably be fiddling with it. I actually lucked out and was able to position the texture I found so that it ended up darkening the areas i wanted. I think I'll be making my own textures next, in any case. They're really fun! If you'd like to know, I had the texture layer mode as darken, and put it in a folder with overlay as the mode. It gives a pretty cool effect, and will leave any white areas as plain white, which is useful!
