This is the Furu, the first animal to speak anything akin to what we understand as language today. He is an allegorical character. He wants to teach you about the Spirits, about Communication and Community and about yourself. His way is a way, not the way.

The Summer Solstice is the time for anointing. In the stories of the Furu, he was anointed the the sun of his local solar system and given the ability to speak the language of the spirits as well as the ability to confer their blessings.
