Honestly I've played Super Mario World and yet i dont remember these being part of it (granted that was several years ago but regardless)

The P-Balloons were EXTREMELY rare in that game, let alone only being in that game. If I recall, there were only two levels that even had the P-Balloon, one of which being a secret level that involved having to traverse the ENTIRE (utterly, painfully evil) stage inflated the entire time. You had to grab P-Balloons constantly to keep inflated while dodging constant, sometimes impossible-to-avoid danger that'd kill you in a single hit.
Still, was a fun power up whenever you could use it.
