I have had a thick furred dog and he was err.. smelly (it's not really bad, just you can tell it's animal), though my clothes didn't smell.
I heard ferret smell is stronger/weaker etc.
can you compare? (maybe you have had otehr animals)?
I actually like ferrets, but have barely seen them in real life. (I have read lots on maintenance, so don't tell me that :) ).
Keeping some at some countryside home probably is no problem, but I have a flat, so I am affraid to get them

My dog smells worst because she goes swimming alot but compared to a dog that is indoors, pampered, well not getting in dirt/water/etc all the time they smell a bit stronger. Don't get me wrong, ferrets do have a unique scent but the thing that smells the most is their cage WHEN it's not cleaned often. And even then their are things you can buy to put in their food/water to make their waste less smelly.
Well think of a playful kitten or puppy that will never grow up, they LOVE to play and do love getting places were they aren't suppose to be if they get the chance. They also sleep most of the day. So the are playful as a puppy and sleep as much as a cat. :)
