I just realized I never uploaded this "progression" image I took last year. Oops! D: I shared it on LJ, but forgot to post it here after we made this account.
Anyway, here are four different versions of Quaylak that have been made over the past four years. I believe photos like this are important because it shows that we, too, had a starting point.
That head on the left was the very first fursuit head I'd ever made, and I believe I threw it together in about a day just before AC 2007. I will say right now that I had absolutely NO IDEA wtf I was doing when I sat down with some foam, fur, a balaclava, and some glue sticks. It was built on a styrofoam head base I found at a beauty supply store. It has no teeth/real mouth, I eyeballed the fur pieces (literally held the fur up the head, guessed where it would fit, then cut it out), then glued them together on the head, and she is so "chicken-eyed" that it made me sick to wear around. Yikes! lol
Just remember to keep working at it, guys, especially you new makers who doubt yourselves and never feel like you can make a nice looking head. I felt the same way years ago, but kept practicing and learning from those better than me. Always remember we've been building costumes for five years now and didn't just start off making nice-looking things. Practice makes perfect! :D

I love seeing these! They don't even look like they were made by the same person... even between the 3rd and the 4th, there was a HUGE leap in quality. It's also kinda funny how each version was smaller than the one before it, then the most recent version is the largest. xD
