It was a typical summer day, the air was clean and crisp. The sun was shining bright, and shining down on a small orphanage. There were a few kids all playing out with 2 grown women watching them. However, not all the kids were outside, two young boys, Ryan and Austin were inside and playing by themselves. They both seemed to be about the same age as they played with some of the toys. The one playing with a pikachu plushie was Ryan, he was always looking out for his younger brother Austin. although he was a little naïve, Ryan was considered the stereotypical "good boy" by the caretakers and some of the kids. the boy playing with the Girafarig Toy was Austin, being the more naïve of the two, it was hard for him to know right from wrong, luckily his older brother was there to help him.
The two boys were just playing with the toys, like they usually do. but Ryan then took a look outside, once he realized it was a beautiful day, he got an idea. he turned to his little brother, and asked, "hey Austin, what would you say to a little time swimming in the lake?" Austin looked at his brother and said, "maybe not today I don't feel like swimming, and besides didn't Mrs Smith, and Miss Lee say that today was going to be a special day?" Ryan had totally forgotten about when the caretakers mention that, "oh yeah you're right, how about we go outside and find out what this special occasion is" Ryan said. However, just as he said that the back door opened and the kids were all coming back inside from their play time. "Nevermind then, looks whatever's going on today is going to be indoors" Ryan said, he then started putting away the toys he was playing with. The inside of the building was big anyway. a three-story building, the bedrooms were on the second floor, on the top floor was where the caretakers lived. The bottom floor was where the kids can play, and eat. The bathroom for teh kids were at the 2ed floor and the one of the grown ups was at the top floor.
After Ryan and Austin put away the toys they were playing with, they joined the other kids on the other side of the playroom. When the caretakers saw that everyone was in the room, they began, "okay kids, as you know we said this was a very special day" said Mrs. Smith. "A few days ago the Pokemon Champinship was held." Said Miss Lee and chuckled. The kids mostly seemed to be wondering what was coming still. Mrs Smith smiled and looked a the door. it opened and walked in was a young man about 17 years of age. Ryan couldn't believe what he was seeing, "is that the winner?" he asked. the young man took a look around the room, looking in each of the young kids.
He then replied to Ryan's question, "yes, I was the winner in this year's Pokémon championship, the name's Raymond McCloud, the reason I'm here today because I get to teach you kids a little about pokemon. From what I can tell, a lot of you are at the age to be able to start your pokemon journey!" Ryan was very intrigued by what Raymond was saying, he and Austin were both way into Pokémon and were also dreaming of being trainers themselves before end up that the orphanage.
it was then that Raymond started to let out his Pokémon. First was his starting Pokémon, Typhlosion, then he let out his Pikachu, next came his Lapras. he then let his Sableye out, next came his Espeon, and last but not least, his Scyther. all six Pokémon were energetic and happy to meet the children.
The kids looked at the Pokemon for a few seconds. Each one was a bit nervous about touching them. Austin wasn't though, he walked up to the Sableye with a smile and petted him. Ryan also showed no nervousness, and started petting the Lapras, in fact, Leon seem to pet her just in the right spot, making her really happy towards him. With the two of them now up to teh Pokemon the otehr kids got up one by one and also walked to the pokemon and petted them. The caretakers and McCloud smiled and watched them.
then, McCloud started to notice something, Ryan and Austin were both starting to gain the trust of the Pokémon, in fact, they were actually bonding with the Pokémon. Raymond looked at the caretakers and asked, "can you tell me about those two, ma'am?" Mrs Smith then looked back at Mr. McCloud and replied, "do you mean Ryan and Austin?" to which he nodded his head. "They seem to have a way with the Pokemon." he said. the caretaker then replied without hesitation, "well, they are very unique boys, they don't spend a lot of time with the other kids, instead they spent their time with Pokémon in the forest, I guess it's because of their special abilities" Raymond was really interested in what she just said, "special abilities?" he asked and looked abck at the two. Ryan was wispering something to the Lapras and his lapras seemed to say something back, and they both laughed. the caretaker then said, "Ryan has the unique ability to understand Pokémon language, to him Pokémon speak human just like you and I," Austin then began scratching the Pikachu behind the ears, which felt really comfortable the Pikachu. "and Austin always seems to know how to make Pokémon happy.
McCloud smiled. "Well now. That sure will come in handy when they become pokemon trainers." but it seemed that the boys deserve more than that, at least that's what McCloud's Pokémon thought. after a few more minutes up the kids petting the Pokémon, McCloud then said "okay kids, if you really like my Pokémon that much, then how about we all go outside and you can play with them?" the kid seemed really excited that the offer, and the Pokémon seemed pretty happy about it too. so McCloud brought his Pokémon outside and the children came out soon and started playing with them.
Scyther, however was not, instead he was watching Ryan and Austin play with the others, asked if it was planning something with those boys. after a few minutes of watching, the Scyther then took action, it walked up to both Ryan and Austin, and tapped them each on the shoulder. once he got their attention, he talked to Ryan about something. Ryan smiled and nodded. Austin walked up to him. "What did it say brother?" He asked Ryan looked at Austin. "He wants us to follow him into the forest" Austin then replied, "okay let's go" the boys then snuck away from the others, and when no one was looking, they ran off into the woods with the bug Pokemon.
Once he felt that they were far enough from the orphanage, the Scyther then spoke to Ryan again. "he wants to play hide and seek with us" Leon told Austin, "he said if we win, he'll try to get Raymond to get his parents to adopt us, but if we lose, he's gets to "have a little fun with us" as he said" Austin thought about for a minute, then he replied, "this could be our only chance, let's do it"
once the three were in agreement, Scyther went through the rules. the boys would have one minute to hide and they could not share a hiding place. the boys agree to the terms and the game was on. Scyther started counting and the boys hightailed it around the forest to find hiding spots. By the time Scyther was at 30, Leon was hiding up in a tree nearby, using his green clothes to camouflage himself within the leaves. when Scyther was at 45, Austin finds a hollow log, and hides inside it.
Then Scyther Hit 60, and he started looking for the boys. He chuckled and looked right at Ryan right away, but turned away acting like he didn't know. He started to walk and really had to look for Austin untill he found the kid's footsteps in the lose dirt. he followed them till he got the the hollow log and eached inside.Austin felt a tap on his leg and almost yelled. "Aww you found me already?" he said and crawled out of the log. The Scyther crossed his arms and nodded. His smile on his face seemed to show off his pride a bit. All Scyther had to do now was tag Ryan an it would be over.
feeling a bit nervous about the Scyther seeing him, Ryan wasted no time getting out of the tree and looking for new hiding spot.he looked all over the place, but it wasn't so easy, because the Scyther was watching him from afar, just to make sure Ryan had a winning chance. but then Scyther was getting a little bored, so rather than dragging this out, Scyther went ahead and caught Ryan, and thus Scyther won the game.
the boys were really upset that they lost, because that meant Scyther was not going to help them get adopted, not even thinking about what Scyther could've meant when he said "have some fun with them" Scyther smiled at them both and raised his scythes. Austin could feel something from the Scyther that scared him. "Ryan I want to go back to the orphange now." he said and tugged on Ryan's shirt. Ryan couldn't feel this like his brother did. "What? why? maybe we can win another game, and get adopted."
Scyther's right blade began to sport a blue glow, and the left blade sported a red glow. for some reason, the blue glow felt familiar to Ryan, and the red glow felt familiar to Austin, and as he looked at the glow, his fear seem to be washed away, like there was no reason to be scared. Scyther walked up to the boys and lifted his blades above his heads. Ryan and Austin closed their eyes as the Scyther dropped the blades on Ryan's right shoulder, and Austin's left shoulder. The blades cut deep into both of them and quickly thrust downward at an angle inward. The Brothers both yelled and fell down to the ground, their shirts ripped up, and their chest had a long wound down to their bellies.
However, despite these wounds, the pain only lasted that split second, no after pain, not even a lingering sting...not even any blood. Instead, the wounds seemed to inherit the glow from the respective blades that made them. but the glow didn't stay just on the wounds, they began to spread over the boys' respective bodies.
then, both boys began to feel a tingling sensation growing within their chests. Spreading from each wound, the same color as the glow, their skin started to change color: Ryan's skin turning blue, Austin's turning Red. Each spread in all directions: Side to side, up and down, pausing at their necks, while working their way to the rest of their bodies. although, other kids would've been scared and panicking, Ryan and Austin didn't seem that way, instead, it seemed that the new colors of their skin seemed familiar, like there was a time where it was those colors before. Moving along their arms, their fingers started to tingled: Their middle fingers growing out while the rest sunk back into their hands. Once their fingers finished changing, their hands thinned, seemingly becoming one with the fingers, each forced to face down as their wrists rotated: Locking. although the locking and stretching seemed a little uncomfortable, the boys weren't worried about it, cause for some reason they felt like they were regaining something they lost a long time ago.
Scythes formed underneath their former hands, curving along and growing sharp all along it's length, growing, even after growing past their wrists and a bit up their forearms. Their arms turned to their respective colors, shoulders growing round and bulging, growing bigger. Once their arms and shoulders finished changing, the color spread faster downwards, chest expanding along the way. Looking at the new arms and chests, they seem to be more happy than ever, but the kicker is they still can't figure out why. But, they figure the answer would come in due time. On their backs, what started out as two small bumps quickly grew out into a pair of insect-like wings: Each twitching once or twice before they finished their growth, staying still for the time being. Moving downwards, the back of their pants bulged, seams tearing open. Eventually, their pants gave way, and two abdomen's grew out behind them, forcing their stance to alter. Ryan looked at his wings, and Austin looked at his abdomen, both boys were starting to slowly remember things they couldn't before, things that didn't seem... Human.
Both Ryan's and Austin's heels suddenly rose up off the ground, both of their toes suddenly bearing their weight. Moment's later, their shoes tore apart, giving way for their stretching feet. Toes thickened and fused underneath their socks, the ends ripping in three seperate places where claws replaced their toes. Their feet continued to grow until they doubled in length, and their shoes could no longer hold the contents: Falling to the floor in several pieces. it was at this point, that the Scyther stepped in and started talking, "how do you boys feel?" It asked them. Not even acting surprised at the fact that the Pokémon just talked, Ryan turned to the Scyther and replied, "this feels so familiar, like it was meant to be this way." the Scyther then smiled, "as I thought, turns out you were both born as Pokémon, but someone stole you from your original parents, and used black magic to turn you human, but now I'm returning you how you should be" the boys seemed very happy about what the Scyther said.
The rest of their body finished: Their heads started to tingle. Face's pushing outwards, nose running upwards: Their hair sunk back into their skulls, replaced by a lone spike, ears replaced by ones as well. Their muzzles growing longer, filled with fangs, Ryan's and Austin's transformation drew to a close, leaving them both Scyther's. but they were unique, Ryan was a Blue Scyther, and Austin was a Red Scyther.
With their transformation is complete, the original Scyther called out to McCloud. he looked at the two young Scytheres without scars on there bodies. "Now we just wait."
McCloud came soon and saw all three of them. "I wondered where you went Scyther. Found some new friends?" he asked. He nodded and looked at the two. "Sorry about this." he said. Austin gulped feeling something off. "Sorry for what?" As he asked that McClouds Scyther vanished and was behind them now. Ryan abnd Austin both passed out from the unseen attack.
"Whoa! That was sudden." said McCloud and looked at his scyther. They could understand each other in the way that a trainer and a Pokemon do. McCloud took two Pokeballs out and threw them at the boys, and catching them without any trouble. The Pokeballs then started to glow and soon vanished off to the Pokemon lab far far away from here.
"Well two more to train now. I should find some use for them...they are strangly colored..maybe they could win extra points in competitions." said McCloud. He smiled and his Scyther nodded. "Let's get going buddy. The kids at the orphanage still want to learn about the world of Pokemon." And with that they both walked back to where they came from , back to the kids and soon to be Pokemon trainers. As they walked McCloud gasped. "I got it! Maybe...Maybe the two you knocked out could be good starting Pokemon for some of the kids!"
--3 years later--
It was a fine day at the Orphanage. The sun was shining down to warm up the cool winter day and the kids were all playing in the snow. Miss Lee and Mrs. Smith had a call from two of their older kids. They said they would come back in time for Christmas. Mrs. Smith looked down the road this day and smiled soon. "They are here!" she said seeing a young girl with her red Scyther and a boy with his blue one. Ryan looked over to his brother and smiled. "Been too long hasn't it?" he said. Austin nodded. "Sure has. I haven't seen you since...well 3 years ago." They were happy to see each other again. They all walked inside and looked around at the christmas lights and the smell of cookies. The two Pokemon talked about their adventures, and how their trainers were. It had been so long and they talked forever it felt.
The day wouldn't last forever though, and that night they had to say their goodbyes once again. Both the brothers were sad to say it after such a long time apart, and only one afternoon to hang out again. They knew in there hearts thought that they would always meet up again though. With that hope, and the knowlage that they had Pokemon friends and a family in there trainers lives they went off again. Happy to be alive.
The two boys were just playing with the toys, like they usually do. but Ryan then took a look outside, once he realized it was a beautiful day, he got an idea. he turned to his little brother, and asked, "hey Austin, what would you say to a little time swimming in the lake?"
