Interesting start! Looks good. Any info on the universe this takes place in?

Right now it's a fairly standard fantasy setting, I think the characters themselves will end up writing more of the world as they interact and reveal various points of their pasts or commentary on getting back to somewhere in the more civilized world.

The Raccoon though is quite a rebel and stubbornly individualistic type (as you might have already guessed), which is part of her reason for her lesbian nature, rejecting a very male-dominated and hetero culture.

I haven't yet finalized if the human is native to the world or like the male in about half my stories being from a more modern high-tech society (i.e. 'our' world). Anything in particular you were curious about?

How big is the island? Is it a mundane desert island or the more mystical type?

It's a fairly good-sized island, formed from lava build-up from several close-by volcanoes with at least one explosive detonation similar to what happened with Krakatoa, leaving a circular beach area with very fine sand and mainly sheltered from the worst tidal excesses. It also means most of the rest of the island is inaccessable due to the large sheer cliff face from the main volcano, at least initially. Other than perhaps the remains of a pirate stronghold or lost temple or somesuch it's otherwise a regular island. Not a tropical one like on Gilligan's Island though, one closer to a more extreme seasonal cycle, with a fairly long cold season.

Any exotic wildlife?

I hadn't really thought about wildlife yet, outside what you'd find from the aquatic side of things, depends on the ecosystem of the island which I'm still working on. Given the layout it's not impossible for the section they're on having just plant life while the harder to reach part contains a more diverse ecosystem with both animal and plant life rather than just plant life like on their side.

What kind of skills will our shipwrecked human have?

I presume he'll bring something to the table besides basic survival skills.

Well fleshing out his skills is part of what's slowing things, since I focused on getting the raccoon fully developed first, always open to suggestions though.

Well suggestions for the human are really dependent on whether or not he's a native or a dimensional castaway to boot. I'll fire up the old noggin on both possibilities.

There be a lot of static already! Interesting that this fella, while somewhat nice, is also one to not take any bullcrap either. Hopefully their attitudes will settle down as the story progresses, or survival will be difficult indeed.

Excellent action scene though - I could actually feel the agony and fear of drowning.

Getting that going was the hardest part, to present the storm and terror and emphasize how especially helpless it made her compared to what her normal place in reality was. There will be a fair amount of tension though until it comes to a head, since not being a cheap adult novel you aren't going to find the stranded lesbian quickly hopping in the sack with a guy even with the motivation to gain vast magical power.

Oh, totally...and I find that refreshing. Though I do think orientation is pretty well immutable. I don't see her particularly enjoying things with him. They would make an interesting pair though.

It is an interesting dilemma too - being trapped with someone of the opposite sex, yet of a different orientation. It'd be some kind of hell on earth for me, I must admit.

I don't see orientation as set, otherwise you wouldn't run into so many who were clearly conditioned to a particular orientation or the concept of 'jailhouse gay' where otherwise straight people engage in homosexual sex as part of dealing with the situation and emulate what they miss from when they were free. I do agree though that at least initially she'd not be enjoying the sex for multiple reasons, including the simple fact she's still cherry so to speak (her talent with sex toys doesn't extend to them entering her but using them on her female partners instead).

Oh yes it does make for a nice dilemma, at least as long as the one who's attracted to the gender of the other one trapped with them finds them attractive personally. Given that Ruby IS quite attractive and exudes sexuality without even trying it would definitely be hell for her companion since at least she doesn't have someone around to lust after just feet away and not be able to even try anything. Ruby only has herself and no temptation around to torment her, just her own sexual (and magical) desires.

Orientation is set, but your sexuality changes. Orientation is just what you're attracted to period...while sexuality is your expression. So one can force themselves into an alternate sexuality they may not like (take, for example, gay men who take "beards"). That said, I do see what you mean about Ruby...although in a pinch I think gals can deal with sexual longing better than guys can, heh heh!

Depends on the femme, and Ruby's dedicated her life to sex (even if just lesbian sex) and the magical power of sexual union so I think that puts her more at a disadvantage compared to her companion. :D

this story has a lot of potential... well written and discriptive...

Thanks, had to kick myself in the backside a few times to get even this much put down so I could cover the storm and Ruby's reactions properly. When I give it a try next I'll be focused on doubling the amount of material from what is posted here.
