She pawed absentmindedly at the bauble on her desk, rocking the figure back and forth.
“I miss you,” she whispered.
It hadn’t been that long since they had last seen each other, she mused, only a couple months, but it had felt like an eternity. Even then, they generally stayed in good contact what with phones and chatting over the internet. Still, it just wasn’t the same as being with each other in person, watching his face while he talked, feeling his touch, smelling his scent. She really needed that right now, but she knew that just wasn’t possible. He was busy with work, she with school, and there were no breaks for either in sight.
“I miss you, too, baby.”
She pawed absentmindedly at the bauble on her desk, rocking the figure back and forth.
Couldn't sleep the other night, so I wrote this. Nothing too terribly special or profound, but I like it. Can't say I'm too pleased with the coloring of the actual picture, but I still like it well enough to consider it worthy of posting. It looks infinitely better in the thumbnail, though.
