I'm thinking about making a web story for you guys, something to entertain you as well as motivate me. Here's a story thing I got goin on, and I'll post more as I go along, but please give me piece by piece feedback.
Portia opened her eyes and woke up, dazed and confused. She immediately noticed she wasn’t in any familiar area. “What is this place?” she questioned herself. She got up cautiously, looking into the gentle turquoise sky momentarily. She brushed off her skirt and sleeves, and stood there on a decorated stone platform with wonder and amazement as she looked around in hopes of figuring out. Birds chirp and cheep a light hearted tune within the lush greenery, bushes and flowers in many hues painted the ground in a lovely vision, an invigorating warm breeze was present, and there was a gentle running stream flowing into a pond nearby with reeds and cattails garnishing the banks and water lilies on the pond surface with lazy frogs lounging on the floating pads. Once she realized she was outside in a forest clearing, her eyes filled with enticement. Things were piecing together, and she finally realized: Her storybook forest from her picture had come to life.
She looked on and in the distance, beyond the trees, saw the castle she had envisioned so meticulously: 5 tall spires reached towards the sky from a beautiful and decorated fortress consisting of ivory intention and umber undertones. The center tower was taller than the rest with each being its own unique height, and every window upon that structure was elaborate stained glass. Sighing happily, “I can’t believe it came to life” she told herself, as her emotions ran wild within her. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her prismatic crystal orb and looked into it and smiled, “This is totally cool” she whispered as it gleamed in her hand slightly. She then pocketed the object just as quickly as she retrieved it.

A beeper alarm sounded within a dark, dimly lit room. Tech equipment for measuring all sorts of data were sprawled out all across a table against a wall with folders and documents pilled neatly on a corner of the table. The air was somewhat stuffy and poorly circulated as the shadows in the corners of the room played tricks on the eyes. “We got a major energy flux going on, I need all team analyzing what this is now!” a man in a lab coat shouts in surprise as a female assistant walks into the room from the alarm, “Everything alright?” she asks calmly, “something big” he replies short. A team of 5 all working diligently, suddenly stops as a call rings through on the computer of the coated man, and he answers. The room immediately became silent as the call began to commence. “So I’m guessing you guys are looking into this phenomena right?” a seductive, smokey female voice asked. “Yes, my team is working on it. We’ll find out where it is and what it is soon enough” he replies almost as if he was prepared for this very moment, putting his hands together as if completely comfortable. “Good, that’s what I like to hear. I guess I don’t have to worry about your competency or abilities. Please don’t make me wait for the results, and thank you” she finishes curtly, and hangs up. “What should we do now Dr. Nosis?” the female assistant asks complacently, coming up to him and holding some confidential documents, “We have to make sure we find out what caused that energy flux” he replies cautiously, “It may connect science and the supernatural even”.

The green meadow was Portia’s station of awakening within this world. She inhaled and enjoyed the gentle, aromatic breeze that carried scents of lilies, daises, and roses, as she savored the ethereal atmosphere. She exhaled and sighed, and then a thought crossed her mind as she began to walk off her stone platform and into the flowers, “Well, if this place is a new world, one of my worlds, I wonder if anyone lives here…maybe I should…” she paused a second. She looked all about her; she notices her backpack, but not her little furry companion. “Rez?...Where are you?” she calls out in a meek voice. “Oh no, where is Rez?” she said to herself quietly, searching for her lost cabbit. She looked all around herself, but then recovered quickly, and she remembered that her companion had the ability to be on their own and go off on their own at times. “Oh well, he’ll show up eventually” she states quickly, giving up and making sure she keeps a hold of herself and her senses. She picks up her backpack and quickly decides go on her way towards the castle with high hopes and steady pace.
It was enchanting to her, as she was walking along the stream bank, humming quietly as dragonflies darted about the surface. Colorful little birds and butterflies flew about her as she meandered along gracefully. A mother dear and fawn were in the distance grazing lightly, and a few rabbits were comfortably nestled amongst the violet clover buds. The scene indeed felt as if it belonged in a fairytale, and Portia’s emotions were running rampant right now. The thought of creating a whole new world from her own art baffled and filled her with happiness, melancholy, and curiosity. “It’s so beautiful. I still think I’m dreaming” she said to herself, thinking of the possibilities she held potentially. She came to a dirt road leading into the direction of the castle that veered away from the stream path she was taking, and began to venture forth without hesitation or care of any possible danger as she was determined to reach her destination. The path was peacefully bordered with small flowers of autumn shades.
The road led up to a giant barred gate with 9 foot stone walls on either side of it, with a giant padlock on gate nonetheless. Portia was first amazed by its beauty, “Oh my…it’s just like I imagined it…” she paused, “How am I gonna get in though?” she shyly adds. She was locked out of her own dream castle by an intimidating and simplistic obstacle, and no key to think of came to her mind. She patiently thought to herself as she tapped her finger on her side in contemplation. Then an idea came to her like a bolt of lightning, “I guess I can just draw a key that could open any lock” she states to herself. She quickly got into her backpack and began rummaging through her belongings, and quickly she found her drawing utensil and paper. She sits down against the wall next to the gate and puts down a clipboard with a piece of blank paper on her lap and begins creatively drawing her new key.
About 30 minutes go by, and finally she finishes the picture along with the written data about its purpose and powers in excruciating detail. She excitedly unclips the picture and then puts it down on the ground in front of her and frees her hands. She puts her hand out in front of the picture delicately and begins to sing an incantation, "Picture so clear...Here the spirits see...Make the magick coalesce, Let it come to be...” The picture itself was beginning to emit radiant energy in streams and waves of light and color,”...Law flow into it, Make it my design... Let the dream be real, Now let it be mine...”. She finished her spell, and the transformation was complete: a somewhat large, beautiful and delicate key made of silver and 7 different gems encrusting the shaft was on the ground in front of her. She picks up the key and examines it with adoration, like any artist who love’s their own work would.
“Finally, let’s see if this key works” she says as she puts it into the keyhole of the padlock. An immediate click was heard within the lock when she stuck it in, and the latch released its grip on the gate door. She hastily removed key and pocketed it, removed the padlock and put it aside on the inside of the gate. She closed the gate behind her and looked back at the castle and gazed at the 5 towers that sprang up from the fortress with hope and curiosity. “Now nothing stands in my way of me and the front doors” Portia says with a sense of accomplishment.

“Sir, we’ve found out the general location of where the energy burst came from” one of the lab techs calls out. Nosis quickly came from the lounge into the dark room with a cup of coffee in his hand, and his face was both anxious and stern. He looked on the screen and took a few moments to realize that something he’s dreamed about for awhile might be in his grasp soon. “Good progress, at this rate we might have something. I‘ll send some investigators in the area as ASAP. I need to know if what caused this is still there. Print off the coordinates for me” he says as begins walking away while sipping his steaming drink. He makes his way to the printer as it finished printing and swiftly grabs the paper and puts it in front of his female assistant while she was writing away on her computer, “I’ll leave you in charge of the recon Sedna. You seem to be more of the friendly type anyways” he says as though she were a champion of social recon. She takes the paper and turns and looks back at him with a subtle smile, “Of course. I’m on it” she says with a sense of obedience, as she gets up and begins to walk out of the lab.

She walked gingerly down the bridge to the main entrance, noticing the bridge was hanging over beautiful, lush valley that sat only 4 stories deep with another stream running through it too. Upon reaching the towering main doors she pushes through and opens them cautiously, yet without hesitation. She peers into the castle foyer and everything seemed quiet, yet everything was immaculate and seemed to be in perfect, maintained condition. “Just like how I envisioned: Clean without the maids about” she jokes to herself. She slowly walks inside and ogles at the chandeliers, the staircases, hallways, carpets, curtains, and beyond. She noticed and loved how vivid and complimentary the menagerie of colors played out on the interior of her dream castle.
