My new poster!

Got this new movie poster today! Orig. movie poster from 1973 or so. (From when they did a re-release out in theaters in the early 1970's). Love Song of the South. One of my all time favorite Disney films. Saw it in the theater back in the early 80's when they re-showed it. Finally, I have a poster in our movie room! (aka living room)

Too true...too true. There are bootlegs and oddly enough. It was released on VHS in Japan. Go figure.

Oh yes, the movie is older, but when they did a re-release of the movie in theaters back in the 70's this is the poster that they did.

This movie originally came out in 1946 and is one of the few Disney movies that might never be released in DVD/BD because of the subject matter of the movie. I do have a bootleg VHS copy of it, somewhere.

I never saw it in the theaters, only wish I could have. I've heard alot about the movie and to why Disney won't release it for home viewing. Just like a couple scenes in Fantasia were edited for home viewing.

With the movie taking place in the south and after the Civil war and there are slaves or former slaves around, there was some controversy about the film.

Cool thing to me is my Mom told me she saw it in the theaters and then I had a chance to see it in the theaters. :D

Ahhh....it's a shame I never got to see anything in the theaters earlier than this. Still, enjoyed seeing it while I could because they won't show it ever again I'm afraid.
