Well, I just bought: a 10" tom, 12" piccolo snare, a higher pitched plastic block, and, last but certainly not least, a MCA SP1 Condenser Mic. I put the mic centered over the drum set, about 3-4 ft above the cymbals. Its purpose was to catch any sounds that weren't well enough heard, mostly for the cymbals, but also to get a "room sound" as well. I really like how it sounds right now ^-^
