gardevoir normally protects humans(or at least their trainer), right? i'm just thinking here, but i get the feeling he resents humans so much he won't lift a finger to help one in danger.

Yes he's resentful and hates them. But I doubt he'd be that cruel. He's angry but not a hypocrite-even he'd be smart enough to realize that'd make him no better than the human who scarred and left him for dead.

If I were a trainer in the same situation when he turns into a Gardevoir and not a Gallade, I would not throw a rock at him and send out a bug type to hurt him, I might be a bit disappointed but I would still be happy for him cuz he's happy he evolved. People like that trainer don't deserve to BE Pokemon trainers, hurting the lives of a creature and leaving them for dead, Pokemon are living beings, don't they see that? Many think they're only tools of power and if the "tools" becomes unnecessary, weak, or worthless, they would dispose of them, cause further damage them or just flat out destroy them.
Why?.. The answer to that is somewhat simple... Human stupidity and greed.
