An old bird alighted on a branch, knowing that soon he would die.
Sitting alone in the moon light, regretting being isolated in his last hour.
when a tiny blue wren landed on a branch above him and began to sing softly and sweetly to him.
His eyes closed as the young bird sang him his final sweet lullaby.
This, his final hour, and not alone.

An ancient bird of wisdom and grace,
Sat upon a branch, his final resting place.
He knew the end was on it's way,
Sad his death was soon to pass in such a lonely way.
Then, a blue flutter of hope descented,
A wren with a song most plended,
That he wished to share with the dying bird,
Glad to bring some happiness into his dying world.
The tiny bird sang a lulluby most sweet,
Giving the old bird an enchanting treat.
A tiny call to part him with grace.
A sweet little dirge at his final resting place.
