What a meanie he was! As long as there some kind of reason to have the jewelry, I don't see why someone would say no. And could to a quest of it's own with someone trying to steal your valuables or unknown to you, one of the pieces is a powerful artifact that makes a group chase ya'.

I'm always happy to draw D&D characters. I've got a commission right now of a fellow's character. Fire-winged elf with a snake familiar. Very cool looking! I'll be posting it here when it's done.

We allow jewelry - "paste" gems, for example, or an heirloom that your character won't turn around and sell for bazillions on the first adventure. And your character portrait can always be a "glamor shot" if you like

My first character was allowed to have a "heavy horse" (which I spent the majority of my starter money on... just to have a horse, you know) which I drew CONSTANTLY and rode everywhere in game. I always wanted a horse. And now I had one. On paper. It was grey. With blue eyes. And feathers on it's head-dress-thingie. Don't judge me

I just figured he could have said that my character would have these items some day, but had to earn them. Or that the stuff was not real gold/silver, just shiny. Or it was a glamour shot, as mentioned.
And no, I don't judge. My character of ME in  dhstein 's game has wings, fer gosh sakes. 'Cuz she knew I always wanted wings...and in her world, I had them.
My character Biff Henderson, the TV star from the techno island on her world just Impressed a baby dragon! How cool is that?? The dragon's name is Serpentine, after the green gemstone. I'll post a pic!!

Eh heh. Stood around for well over an hour talking to her about DnD at MFF because I spotted a DnD creature in her portfolio. She has a big dislike of power gaming too, so we just kept going on until I was more or less kicked out of the DD since it was way after closing time, aha.

And talking about a character is fine as long as you don't recal what they ate for dinner three weeks ago =)
