Deer's head that has been mounted over our fireplace for several years.
If my story is straight, my father accidentally killed this deer many years ago, and she's been in our family since before I was born. However, she hadn't been mounted anywhere until we moved into our current house more than a decade ago. Then, my parents set her up over the fireplace, and she's been sitting there ever since, fitting in with other outdoorsy décor.
My mother constantly refers to him as "Elizabeth", and calls him a 'her' even though she knows (and I know) that he's a male deer due to the horns. I see no harm in playing along, so I call him 'her', instead. She jokingly calls her a transgendeer.
I thought she would be quite photogenic, and it seems I was right.
