Here's another little piece of LQC history. As I mentioned in my comments on another picture, when my cousin and I played RPGs, we could not resist making new characters. As a result, one of our groups swelled to 25 in number (it was still 20 at the time I drew this). As a result, no opponent had a chance against them. I was the game master, so I had to try to come up with something that was a real threat to the group. That's when I came up with one of my best ideas ever. I made an anti-group which was the counterpart of the player characters' group! As a whole, I gave them similar skills and abilities to the heroes and even made a few characters who were counterparts to specific player characters! So, drawn in the back of Mr. Jones' physics class in early 1993, here are the Doombringers!
The Doombringers are relevant to the Lizard Queen Chronicles because Ambiri was originally designed for this group. She was the leader of the Doombringers and was the counterpart of my cousin's character Tez, an oversized male Serpentfolk. Admire her awful proportions and her messed-up eyes! Also, just left of center in the bottom row, you can see Austra's babydaddy Mel Bounder! He was a member of this group, too.
Most of the remaining Doombringers are pretty forgettable, with a few exceptions:
- In one of my recent deviantART journals, I mentioned that I had five fox characters. But I had forgotten about Stephanie. Looks like I have six.
- Marty Mouse is kind of cool. He plays the drums. I do love my rocker characters. I based him on one of two headbangers I often used to see at the bus stop on my way home from school.
- "Taur DeForce" is one of the greatest names I've ever come up with. I like this guy, if only for his awesome name.
- "Ursus Major" is also a real nice name, but I'd like to take that name and give it to another bear character I have who's much cooler because he's loaded up with bionics (but is stuck with the crappy name "Electro the Great" ). He might make an amazing LQC villain.
- Teri Lion is quite sexy. I think I'll give her an LQC cameo.
