One month of hospitalization.
Abnormal pneumonia, liver problems (SLE/enzyme levels), liquid in and around my lungs with infections (most of which have been cooked off by operating table grade antibiotics but the liquid remains), side-effects from the medications (gastritis due to the volume and frequency of the medications I was given, and liver enzyme level increase).
Possible leukemia/cancer has been disproven, and the swelling of my internal organs have subsided to steroids. Over the weeks, months, years, though I have to watch my blood pressure and heart function due to the steroids themselves. (I was given a particularly high dose some time ago to relieve me of my affected lungs, which gave me severe heart palpitations. My condition became stable soon afterwards.)
Overall, most of my body is now functioning properly, with the exception of loss of body fat and muscle; minimal coughing. However, I still have to rest and relax; engage in stress relief/denial to let my liver heal normally under house observation only. This does mean I will be working, drawing, less, but I'm still around.
So yes. Have a taste of my blood. It's good for you.

*insert shocked statement*
Whoa, that is some stuff you are going through. And here I thought walking pneumonia was rough.
Not sure how I would fare if I had to go through such changes with my body. My pneumonia caused the start of a dramatic weight loss in me.
Which was the only benefit of suffering so much for over such a long period of time.
Took me a month to get over the infection, and the next few months had me sounding strange due to my vocal cords being affected by the infection.
So yea, I know what crap feels like.

What exactly was wrong with me was the problem.
Dr. House would have had a field day (month) with me trying to figure out what was wrong.
At first, it was just pnemonia, but all throughout the hospitalization I acquired fits of burning fever the reasons for which the doctors never comprehensively pinpointed. At that point, they were using operating table grade antibiotics to try to cook off infections. Later the cause was found to be due to non-infection reasons, connective tissue disease in particular. Lupus.
Yes, In the spirit of making everyone who ever watched Dr. House laugh, I was diagnosed with Lupus.
(Yes, the disease targets mostly women of childbirth age but is possible for a male to acquire it out of the blue. Have to be careful.)
And they were partially correct, as most of my internal organs were found to be inflamed (especially my spleen) due to autoimmune response. I had the fits of fever, unexplainable body pains, etc. (Layman's terms, my body was destroying itself.)
They saved me with steroids way before the disease could do permanent damage, and now I'm just recovering. The only concerns; the steroid use and my liver.
This Monday, I will go for a checkup. If my liver has not improved, then I go back to the hospital for liver biopsy. (It's basically a simple procedure. They poke into me to take a sample of my liver and study it under the microscope to figure out what's wrong. Mind you, it's very effective though invasive.)

Hmm, I was unaware Lupus could be picked up by males. Learn something new every day! Very unfortunate that that bit of knowledge had to be picked up at the expense of considerable pain to you. Sounds like the doctors were a bit stumped for a while there, but then again autoimmune error issues tend to be pretty convoluted. It's what ended up doing in my step-brother's mom, and to this day they're really not sure what happened with her.
Sounds like the steroids are helping out considerably, although I hope it hasn't caused too much stress, outside of the liver, such as weight issues or tendon strain.

Mrf, guess I should have read a bit closer there. Sorry, missed your detailing out of all of your present issues when I asked about that in my earlier post. Very comprehensive original statement of yours.
Get back to your normal understated evil self soonist, Doctor. Missed ya in a "Where's that dark shadow at?" sorta way.
