Haven't worked in Sketchup in forever, but I just recently bought Battlefeild 3 and I love how the guns in that game are so... well modeled. So when I went to school the other day I got bored and designed a new weapon based off the M4 / M16 series.
This is the MRK1 Assault Rifle built for Medium and Long combat situations. Due to it's bullet size it only kicks out a bullet every 0.2 seconds giving roughly 4 seconds of mag time on full auto.
It contains safe, semi, and fully automatic firing modes.
Adjustable / removable 4 inch stock.
3 barrel rails
1 scope rail
Specs:
81x9.5 mm bullet caliber
20 bullet clips
Current attachments:
Default Glow-in-the-dark rail sight
Modeled in Sketchup 8
(I am not a gun enthusiast. I only work off of opinion and images with the minimalist amount of research)

Yeah, i see what you mean, but ya just gotta make due with what is there. Their site does offer add-ons programmed by sketchup enthusiasts from animation add-ons to lighting packages, but alot of them charge for their things.
One thing I miss though is that on this laptop (which is newer. go figure) I cannot import custom textures like back when I did vehicles. Then I had flame designs on Hummers and BMWs I designed, but not anymore.

Ah. Well, if you ever want a free 3D modeling package and free training from yours truly, I'd love to help out a fellow 3D enthusiast. I use Blender 2.6 right now.
