One of my more unusual titles...
At the most basic level, this is about the difference between our real and online personalities. The Internet allows a strange anonymity, with communities in which you can be anyone that you choose to be, almost becoming like a second life in itself. You can escape the mundanity of your everyday life and become anything, without thinking about any consequences in the real world. But if you are so different when you're "anonymous", which one is who you really are?
In another very different introduction, I've used an Eastern-style chord instrument along with more acoustic samples than usual. I think this is another song with a lot of power behind it, but because of the major key and the voice instrument it could be misinterpreted as too happy-sounding. It was in an attempt to get around that that I decided to use two different versions of the chorus - one major and one minor that appears in the middle. The instrumental section is also quite diverse, experimenting with different drum patterns as well as some unusual chord shifts.
[Lyrics]
I live a perfect life
Free of the chaos in the minds of others
The world before me now
Can be explained in every glyph and number
But sometimes don't you want to see your past revive
And the chance to leave behind your ordered life
You made me to protect another hidden side of you
I've come to life, we are a heart split in two
(Split in my mind)
Two souls combined
They are two souls combined, exist in one mind
Eternally fighting, but carried side by side
With a heart split in two, they'll never be unified
Competing for one life, they'll fight until they die
The time has changed us all
Forgot the promise, put the past behind me
My task throughout my life
To bring an order to the world before me
Inside I long for havoc and the chaos controlled
I'll be your torturer for now and ever more
The gates are open, I will show you, step inside
My invitation, this device against your mind
(Carried side by side)
Fight against your mind
They are two souls combined, exist in one mind
Eternally fighting, but carried side by side
With a heart split in two, they'll never be unified
Competing for one life, they'll fight until they die
Together they would be strong
The fighting sides that make the parts of me
If you cannot see that we are the same
I'll walk inside your shadow for eternity
They are two souls combined, exist in one mind
Eternally fighting, but carried side by side
With a heart split in two, they'll never be unified
Competing for one life, they'll fight forever
Two souls combined, exist in one mind
Eternally fighting, but carried side by side
With a heart split in two, they'll never be unified
Competing for one life, they'll fight until they die
Two souls, one mind
A heart split in two that exists in one life
Eternally fighting, existence entwined
Together they walk side by side
Two souls in one mind

Very sweet and touching piece.
I really like the lyrics and the music aswell.
I found myself in a similar situation described some time ago, pondering what is real and what is not, but nowadays i have reached an inner serenity, both parts of me fighting for the same goals, existing in both worlds at once :)
Maybe there is a chance for this one aswell.

Nice subtle stereo effects in there. You're one of the few artists on FA that have developped an extremely distinctive style that's easy to recognise even when they do electronically generated music. Nice choice of instruments, too - I especially like the one around 3.00. Schizophrenia has rarely sounded as good.
As usual, your music is simply amazing. If this had the production behind it to be a commercial release (you know, vocals, an actual band, etc.) I would seriously buy this music. On the composition/songwriting level, your work easily competes with some of the actual established bands I enjoy.
No, really: Let's say Machine World was actually made into a full-fledged album. You've revealed three songs so far, and all three have been excellent, very strong, the kind of song that really stands out. That means I already place your work above, say, Hammerfall's Threshold, which had one strong and amazing song (Natural High) while the rest was...certainly not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but kind of forgettable.

Oh, speaking of Hammerfall's "Natural High" and despite how much I like the song, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JH0zc_DnN4 is almost, almost worse than curling.
Well, as people on SA keep saying the same thing, I'm definitely going to have to try to get a band together at some point. At the moment, arrangements to work with guitarists never go that well because I don't even know what readable tab looks like - however, I'm planning to start learning guitar (again) for myself soon, so I hope something will come of them, even if I'm as old as Iron Maiden by the time it happens.
I'm slightly nervous about the next one, though, as it's a bit of a... well, not a joke, exactly, but to be taken less seriously than the others. It's called "Tale of the Cave", that should give a bit of a clue.
And every time I think you've shown me the most ludicrous power metal video ever, another one comes to top it. Even though a video about smashing vampires with hammers sounds fantastic in itself, I'm going to have to make a mental note never to make any music videos if I ever get a band going.

There are a few good videos out there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2ErYEwYq34 is basically just one unending band shot, but due to the camera work (circling around and creative fading at least mixes it up a little) and the mellowness of the actual song, it somehow works, if in a calm, reserved manner that basically makes this the most sober video ever made by a power metal band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8FeFjI3wHs and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RVQ1NcTwQ4 are better examples of a band actually going for it and it somehow miraculously working and not being ridiculous.
But, uh, from my experience, while sane power metal videos aren't automatically oxymoronic, they're about as close as you can get, and the ones that work are definitely the exception, so not wanting to chance it might not be a bad idea.
And your next song certainly sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out when you release it.
