Three can't get drunk on alcohol, but certain herbs and plants (no, not those kinds) will have a similar effect. They're probably similar to the herbals hipsters and goths smoke. I could almost imagine her race having hookah lounges instead of bars.
The smoke does what alcohol does to most people. She'll mellow out after one or two, a few more and she'll get giggly and her mouth engages before the brain does, and a few more after that and she'll probably hit the "YOU'REMYBESTFRIENDILOVEYOU" phase before passing out.
Those of you who are violently opposed to cigarettes, I apologize if this picture offends you. I do not advocate cats smoking herbal cigarettes. Catnip is hard enough.

That is a interesting piece on Three. So I take that drinking alcohol is done mainly for taste rather then taking the edge off. I have been call nasty thing for my habit but I didn't know there were people violently opposed to smoking. I smoke 2 on my way to work, 4 during, and another 2 more before going to bed.
Hookah bars are awesome. Well the ones that give you a separate mouth cover for each person. Smoking wise, I'm mostly a non-smoker but will smoke sometimes at bars with friends. And the one or two cons I go to each year (usually for socializing reasons). Oh, and only Cloves. Mainly because I hate the smell of regular cigs.
Yeah, some folks have trouble with that distinction. Some characters aren't perfect, they have faults and self destructive lifestyles and bad habits and they make mistakes. I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, but Three isn't me and thus she does things I'd never do.
Although if I lived the life she does I'd probably need some sort of recreational chemical to wind down...
