This is my "Easter" card, to my dad. :) I made it myself. :D
My dad is a Christian, I am not. I wanted to make him something that he'd like, but I also wanted to make something to tie into my own way of thinking...I'm not "pagan" in the stereotypical sense (Heathenry is technically a pagan religion but it isn't the same as being just pagan, am I making sense?) but a pagan-themed card seemed a good way to make us both happy. :)
Based on a nifty thing I found here: http://joy-r.suite101.com/the-pagan.....easter-a213071
I really hope my dad likes it. :D Now to go dye eggs for him! I plan to sneak into his house tomorrow and leave them on his kitchen counter. ;)
EDIT: He loved it! :D I dropped off the card I made, plus a bunch of dyed hard-boiled eggs as a surprise, he was sure happy about it! He said "But, you aren't Christian and you don't celebrate Easter!" I said "True, but you are and you DO, and you are my dad and I love you." Turns out my aunt is still giving him the cold shoulder, so no card or well-wishes from her, which means it was extra special that I did something for him...otherwise, as he said, the day would have just passed by like any other day.
We reminisced about my grandmother (Easter was one of her very favorite holidays) and talked about spring and flowers (good gods, my yard is gonna be an epic battle but I SHALL PREVAIL!!) and my dad kept thanking me for the eggs and card. I'm so glad I did that, I mean it took very little time and effort but really meant a lot to him. :) It may even help us be on better ground, religion-wise, since I think he assumed that because I personally don't celebrate it, it doesn't mean I disavow it's existence. :) I also totally left off the part where a Spring holiday is part of almost every Pagan and Heathen faith system, and that rabbits and eggs aren't really very Christian either. XD!!!
Long story short...I'm really glad I made my dad happy. :)

this is very sweet of you kyle i can tell you put a lot of work into it. Good luck with you mission of dying Easter eggs and sneaking them in. Also I wanted to do some fanart for you eventually sometime (i am kinda busy right now) what reference should i use for your fursona ? You seem to have more than one design up in your gallery.
My favorite is when they decided to change Jesus' birthday to winter to coincide with the pagan winter holidays, easier converting them that way. Just adopt their customs (everything from the tree to mistletoe!) and then kill anyone who praises the old gods. ;) I can just imagine Jesus staring down at Earth in consternation at the audacity, LOL!
That said, I do love Jesus. He was totally awesome. :D
Thanks! :D And. Yep! I wanted to paint it but then I procrastinated too long so, markers. ;)

Indeed! We (the LDS church) believe that he was born on the 6th of April, but celebrate it alongside everyone else because it's just easier that way at this point. Besides, we all need something positive to celebrate in the dead of winter for us Northern Hemisphere people.
If only more of his followers actually listened to what he said.
You're welcome! Markers are nice and quick. No real clean-up or set-up required, just perhaps an open window for the fumes!
