FINALY i desided to sit down and color this one.
I drew it togheter with the other dragon bugs ( http://greyanimebeast.deviantart.co.....81311#/d38tdgw http://greyanimebeast.deviantart.co.....81311#/d39k4cy ) but my interest for them ran out and thus i dident color it. Untill now!
Anyway.
Dragonfly dragon
It is around 1.8 m tall at the highest point and around 5.5 m long.
Male and female only comes togheter to mate then parts.
The female give birth to 1-2 kits/pups/babies/whatever you would call a baby dragon, and hunts and cares for them for 3 years. She may breed during this time though so its not uncommon to see females with young of different ages. They also adopt orphans without a second thought.
In the end, a female who is very successfull on handling and raising young may have a little horde of dragon kits tagging after her.
Its a outstanding sprinter as well as a very agile flyer.
It hunts using suprise then clamps unto the victims neck with its powerfull jaws.
It also is a good fisher, howering above lakes and rivers then divebombs once its locked on to a fish. Its favorite beeing salmon.
Its a migrating animal.
Adults move like birds, flying to warmer places once the fall hits.
Mothers stay in warmer zones until their young is 6 months+, well feed and have fully developed their wings then she will bring them with her to more northen zones, seaking out fish runs like the great salmon migrations where she easily can feed her young.
The young starts hunting at the age of 1 but the catch rate is rather low. At the age 2 and a half year they hunt big prey togheter with the mother.
Once they are 3 she will care for them less and less and push them away in favor of the youngest, in the end she wont share food with them at all.
Males have a simpler life with only themselves to worry about and to find and impress as many females as possible.
This he do by displaying his size, flying skill and strenght.
Elder males, if they bump into a female with young, know to bring a gift in the form off food if they try to impress.

Well I toughed dragonfly's are an really awesome creature of nature. This concept is wow. The fearsome predator is now so bad as I crap my pants. Dunno why but I could imagine a movie like the Alien series with this creatures. Dragonfly dragon... the only part of the concept that could sound better, if there would be a way it wont sound like repeating the dragon word.
This is so awesome! Did you know that Dragonflies are lucky, because they are representative of Dragons, anyway? Some say that Dragonflies, really ARE Dragons, but because of how they present themselves, now, no one is afraid of them (except for avid bug-haters), so they are no longer hunted for sport. Those who are blessed by the Dragonfly's presence, are Zaid to have Dragon's Blood running through their veins, meaning, that they are descended from a line of Dragons! I'm one of those people, who has Dragonflies following me, everywhere! That's why I like this story so much! Whether it's true or not... I love this picture!
