This was based off a sketch I did where I had my Kung Fu cat from Hong Kong Mai Ling go down to Thailand and learn Muay Thai.
I think she got pretty good at it.
Gotta love all that aura she is releasing just to kick and split a board in half.
In the BG you'll notice a tiger man watching her. It's supposed to be a tiger parody of Sagat. Get it? Muay Thai? Tiger? you know? XD XD
The BG I did first, including the seated Buddha in the background. Thailand is renown for its magnificent Buddha statues and temples. It's a beautiful land I wouldn't mind visiting for a few days.
I had fun with this one and am getting better at both poses and rendering. I developed a new technique that might serve me well in the future.

Such were the good days of fighting games in Street Fighter II and its endless expansions. Sagat always made for an enigmatic villain in some media portrayals; allying himself with M. Bison, but retaining a code of honour, yet misguided resentment towards Ryu for defeating him (and scarring him). Mai Ling makes good for an excellent kickboxer. Muay Thai always intrigued me from certain video game comics and games themselves for nasty kickboxers. Mai should spar with a character created by a friend of mine, a no-nonsense female snow leopard who also specialises in muay thai. You did perfect to capture Mai's determination to exceed others in her training. I don't think I could break a log like that, because I've never been attacked by a tree.
Sagat was not only a complex and rich characteR: he's also great to use. He's still my preferred choice in SF IV OL.
Yes she should. Mai is always looking for a good challenge. It's how she copes with stress and wondering what her place in the world is. A snow leopard who knows Muay Thai would be perfect. ^^
LOL! Yes: shame on that plank for thinking it could take her on. XD Srsly tho': she prolly just threw it in the air and cracked it
