The New King
Mufasa slowly walked to the tip of Pride Rock, his heart beating faster with every step. His father followed close behind him, beaming with pride. The vast landscape stretched out before them and although Mufasa had seen this sight may times before, today was special. Today he was no longer a prince, today he was a king. Animals of every shape and size had gathered below; the crowd stood waiting and watching as their new king took his place.
Mufasa looked back, further behind him and his father stood his proud mother, Uru and his brother, Taka...who now went by the name Scar, much to Mufasa's shame. Everyone was smiling but Scar, who had a look on his face that was a horrible mess of hatred and depression. Mufasa gave a sigh, he wasn't expecting any congratulations from him. He'd tried so hard to mend the broken bond, to no avail.
Ahadi frowned at the look of concern on his son's face and gave a nod, urging him on. "It's time, my son. You'll make us all proud."
Uru nodded in agreement from where she stood, giving a warm smile to her elder son. Her dark green eyes drifted to her youngest, who stood by her side. He had his head turned away now, angry that he was forced to attend this ceremony.
"Try to be happy for your brother, this is his big day...he needs you to be supportive."
Scar almost cracked a smile and rolled his eyes "Does he now?"
Uru frowned, she knew that tone. "Stop now, don't do this. Not today." she softened her voice, leaning in to give her son a nudge, "Now chin up, smile..." she paused, looking him over "I haven't seen you smile in such a long time, Taka..."
Scar averted his eyes and sighed, "Mother please...don't call me that anymore. My name is S-"
"Shush." Uru scolded. "I'll have nothing to do with this "Scar". You'll always be my little Taka." her voice was stern but gentle, "And someday that will be you up there, the sun will rise on your time. Now smile."
Scar was thankful for her attentions and forced a half smile for her sake, but as Mufasa's mighty roar was heard across the Pridelands it quickly faded. "I doubt that mother..." he whispered as the crowd of animals cheered and danced in celebration.
Mufasa took a deep breath and roared again, tail curving up with ever growing confidence. As the wind swirled around him he felt as if the great kings of the past were shining down upon him, welcoming him.
"Long live the king!" the animals cheered in various languages, from mice to elephants it seemed as if every creature great and small was there that day.
"Long live the king!" Ahadi and Uru roared in unison from behind their son.
The animals cheered again,"Long live the king,"
Scar kept his mouth shut, staring at the rock beneath his feet until Uru nudged him. His eyes were burning as they fell on Mufasa, "Long live the king..."

Yay random story time. :D Also, my first take on Ahadi! If you don't like it, that's okay. This is just the way I see him. Lighter golden tan color with a very dark brown mane. :D
