This is my first real attempt at a "digital painting" style. Done entirely in Mypaint with a Wacom Intuos4.

I kinda like it even though I feel I made a whole lot of mistakes, the composition being the first. This is actually a re-crop and layer adjustment of the original: after finishing I realized that the composition was far too wide and, well, "balanced" -- so I cut some stuff out and repositioned the layers as best I could.

Another mistake was the balance of detail. Notice how the leaves on the tree are a little massy and simplified? That's because by the time I got to them I was burned out by spending hours on the little bits of gravel that you can barely see, and many of which were ultimately cropped out because of the aforementioned composition error.

At least the clouds turned out nice, and I hardly spent any time at all on those. :P
