As they took a short break from driving and looked out onto the English beach with its comical little houses and cold sandbars, they realized that neither knew which one had decided to go to the beach in the first place. Corgi had been raised by cats, and Kirsche tended to view the beach as, at best, a pleasant form of character-building exercise. Neither said anything, though, and besides, perhaps it would be fun.
