First a story:
Their eyes met. The intense glare of Valence spoke volumes of his intent. This was no chance meeting. Unless Ratchet acted quickly, she would surely meet her end. As soon as she thought of reaching for the empty hilts of her hook swords, his dark frame was already bearing down on her. Ratchet managed to free one just before executing a back flip. She had it charged just in time to meet Valence's blade 3 inches shy from her face. She secretly gripped the other hilt with her left hand during the blade lock and intended to swing it up through his gut. Valence pushed out of the lock and spun free from the upward attack, bringing the blade's tip past her head as he returned forward. He charged his hunting knife. His mark's threat level had just risen. They told him she wouldn't go down easily. He had to end this quickly, so he spread his wings and took to the air. Ratchet wasn't about to let him gain the advantage. As Valence swooped out over the cliff's edge, Ratchet took a running start toward him. She wanted to take him down before he had a chance to act. He wanted to cut her down in mid flight before she could make another move. She reached the edge. One foot left the ground, then the other...
