Not totally sure where I'm going with this, I'm not quite feeling the 8bit sounding break at 1:00 since it sounds too much like everything else I do. Might change it, might not? Feedback would be cool, give me ideas/critique/whatever for where to take that part haha. I want to sound like me still but I also want to keep from writing too much of the same stuff, especially on the new EP!
PS, the master volume was turned down when I rendered this so it might be a bit quiet but rest assured, the final mix will be damagingly loud lol.

Just sounds too similar to everything else I do, I use synths and song structures like that a LOT. Like, I know it's fine to have a style but I don't want every song to sound too similar to each other. I DUNNO. I like it but I don't haha. My music can be love/hate to me. I'm just looking to expand my style and writing and I dunno if that part really does that for me.
I understand what you mean. You don't want to be generic and start having everything sound the same, like what Dragonforce always has done (bad reference, they suck and you don't.)
But what I'm saying is, don't throw out the melodies completely. Even if it's just a small part or whatever, I love the melodies, that's what makes it catchy.
The whole thing is awesome though, I'm excited for the new album.

I don't understand music terminology enough to really give you a critique, but the first 15 seconds sound kind of flat and weak to me, if that makes sense. I really like the rest of it though. The break does sound like other things you've done, but that sound is a part of your unique style and I really like it.
I like that with the wub bits, you varied it a lot, and did some things rhythmically that I haven't heard before. That's what I want from this kind of music. After a while all the dubstep drops start to sound the same and I'm like, come on guys I can think of way cooler rhythms in like two seconds in my head! heh
I also like the bit after the 1 minute mark, even if it does sound like a lot of stuff you do. I love the multiple parts going on, counterpoint and all that.

Actually to add to this, what I also never hear is like a second part going on over the wub or whatever. There's such a focus on that part being linear and jumping around everywhere, I get that it sounds cool and maybe I just don't know enough about it, having not made any of this music, but to me it's like the equivalent of a breakdown in a metal song. I get so freaking tired of people just doing these open string low chuggy breakdowns. That's cool and all once in a while, people wanna mosh and all that, but I will hate if you do it all the time. To me it's like, why don't they ever incorporate some melody at the same time? Maybe it's counterproductive or something but I wish people would throw guitar solos over breakdowns sometimes.
So I guess what I'm saying is that since I'm more of an acoustic musician, as opposed to electronic, I relate to this stuff kind of like guitar riffs, and I'm always wanting someone to do something cool with it and have multiple parts going on. I can imagine someone going way overboard with it though, make some dub fugues or something. Call it bachstep.

Nah dude I've always equated dubstep as the electronic version of deathcore. Drops are just breakdowns. The thing for me is yeah, with dubstep, good producers put a lot of time and work into their bass presets (most of the time anyways haha) so they don't like to draw focus away I guess? also when you make complex bass throwing any other synths in gets can kinda get confusing because then it's like do I listen to this lead because it's a lead or listen to the bassline since it's dubstep? I don't really care which way I go, keeping it simple, or mixing it up, only reason I don't do it is I just haven't focused so much on how to blend the two the right way yet and I like to highlight my basses? Maybe it's just never really occurred to me to work on blending the two more haha I really don't know. I don't want to make my compositions TOO busy because then it's just a confusing mess of synths that sounds like you're trying too hard lol. It's all about finding the right balance between complex melodies and complex bass and I think a lot of artists prefer to stick with complex bass or separate the two rather than blending them.
I'm totally rambling, this isn't even coherent haha.

Nah I know what you mean. I'm not against simplicity or anything, it's just that with this particular genre I hear so much of the same thing going on that I thought you know it would just be kinda innovative to go somewhere else with it. It's hard to explain exactly where I'm getting at, because I could totally like hear it in my head but don't have the means to replicate it lol
My absolute favorite thing ever though, is this random ass idea I had once. We took some like robostep stupid crap from youtube and then had the microsoft sam voice or something just rap binary over it. Completely silly, but hilarious. I think we had it saying something like, "We will overthrow our meatbag masters" in binary or whatever. haha
