UPDATE NOTES
The Back button (Gamepad) or ESC key on your keyboard will now quit the game, presently without any prompt. I intend to add a dump save and prompt to this feature in the future.
Addition of the Options screen. Presently three different aspect ratios are supported. On large resolutions, I recommend choosing a matching ratio and enabling fullscreen. Music related options are present, but no music is in-game so they will have no effect.
You can now cut down trees and obstacles with the A button(Gamepad) or the Spacebar. The changes should be persistent, and the game will generate changelogs to track the details. Although all obstacles can presently be destroyed, the game displays a "Wood" effect for all obstacles, and resource gains are not yet tracked.
Created an entire set of animations for the Improvised Axe, and destruction of trees.
Fixed a bit of errant code that was writing an entire array 32 times per cycle instead of only once.

You should contact Kotaku and see if they can make an article for your 8bit funding page. They've been going crazy with the kickstarter project stories lately and it's really helped a lot of people. I'll post a link to it on facebook and hopefully some friends will help fund.
I've been kind of torn on this project. Late last year/early this year I started writing docs for a game design very similar to this, in story, graphic style, and gameplay. Then, as I started to write my pitch for indiegogo, you posted your link to 8bit funding, I saw your vid, your story, your proposal. And I was sad, because you're making the game I wanted to make. And excited, because you're making the game I want to play!
So best of luck to you, and I'll throw you some cash, because we need more games like this!

Thank you kindly. And sorry if it seems like I kaiboshed your idea! I thought the same thing when I heard about "Towns" but then I went and bought it and tried it, and you know it's really not all that similar. And I got to support another indie project in the process. Maybe this will turn out quite different from what you expect.
