This set of Havesta creatures is concepts of species that have been developed for a month if not more, currently out of concept stage and currently in critical evaluation and experimentation stage, not all creatures are going to be subjected to the same evaluation as they are not all the same style or for the same reasons. Some are for fetishes, others are for the overall look or just for storyline possibilities with the hope that others will enjoy the chance to see more of the species later on.
Currently however this stage is more of a review of what people think of the species which is why they are uploaded now and I hope that everyone will enjoy the read.
Tratro (Tra'tro)
Idea Origin: Invasive Plant
=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=Description=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=
Look 1: Root System (Red)-First Wave
They look like quick growing grass that covers over anything that it can touch, the first step in this invasive species takeover of land that has yet to be claimed as their own. The roots are tentacle like in nature and their defense is that when stepped on tentacles come out to wrap around or otherwise immobilize the intruder while its secondary purpose is to connect to all the other individual plants and provide quick communication between all independent parts of the Tratro.
Look 2: Potion Poison Maker (Yellow, or Purple)-Second Wave
Depending greatly on light determines what the plant makes, it looks like a large tree trunk with branches that fill translucent orbs with sap that are able to do different effects, if the plant grows in dark areas all the sap it produces makes poison effects while in light it makes all potion effects. Not all are positive or negative effects though, but some of the colors do give indications, the darker the sap the more poisonous it is. These grow after the root system develops to set up a perimeter and grows thickly to provide a hard barrier from the area being grown over to what is already claimed.
Look 3:Underwater/Underground Minefield (Translucent Green)-Third Wave
To make sure that any ground gained are kept there are mine fields grown underground or just underneath water level to be unseen until they expand then explode with vines that shoot out before whatever else is hit causes a secondary explosion that covers the area in an unstable sap that causes mutations into the Tratro species. They look like bumpy orbs connected by thin vines it will bulge and heat to a boiling point before exploding if the intruder does not get away from the area as it senses by vibration.
Look 4:Seeder/Anti Air Mutator (Blue)-Fourth Wave
After an area is secured these grow thick in bushes that looks like wrapped vines with seeds about every inch that grows around a hollow tube. The tube has an organic spring inside of the base that feeds the vine to the hollow tube and fires it at high velocity to counter air based attack, the projectile is the Tratro's seed that can grow very rapidly to destroy flying aircraft or be sent into outer space to land on distant planets. The vine continues to grow into large piles and looks similar to a thorny bush. The seeds that are fired are coated in the sap that the plant produces specially for this purpose so that the seed has food to last a long trip and can grow very quickly when it lands on something solid.
Look 5: Builder (Green Dotted)-Fifth Wave
When an entire area is consumed by the Tratro the inhabitants that were on the planet are able to live on this plant, it is a sets of vines that wrap together and start to build platforms to keep inhabitants off of the ground; the builder in the end looks like an extremely large tree with the thick vines making the base and more plentiful leaves on the top to gather light as it spreads the light energy to the other Tratro on the planet and they share the light so even the littlest light helps towards them all. The housing they produce is intelligent enough to help with the inhabitants needs, if they are willing to adapt.
Look 6: Adaptive Plants (Natural colors plus blue splotches)-Conversion
Any plant like species that may have been on a planet beforehand will still be the same, except that they will mutate to work off of the Tratro's sap and root system so it can still produce what it used to however it will send off information if something tampers with the plant. The Tratro uses mutative sap to convert flesh and plant life into Tratro species with aggressive results. The overall goal is completely covering a planet with their species.
=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=Mental Behavior=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=
Aggressive Behavior: They grow extremely quickly, the root system is one of the most aggressive growers and is the hardest to stop because it is just a few feet underground at the most but grows very thickly and produces vines that can trap and kill most creatures. The potion and poison makers also are able to throw what translucent orbs that are filled with sap towards targets, they also grow rather quickly to reproduce what sap is lost during events. The seeder is the only real ranged attack that the Trantro have but they often focus on things above the ground and rarely bother with ground stuff unless they invaded where the seeders are at.
Neutral Behavior: Whatever is left over of the old world that they invaded would get to see some peace, there would be little plant life that would be untainted by the Tratro but they would soon be mutated into a Tratro plant, they would be the same in most respects but would be connected to the informational root system. The builders would make housing for the remaining inhabitants that did not fight the plant's growth and would allow inhabitants to call the place home rather than kill everything afterwards. An invasive species that does not continue to kill after it claims a planet.
Defensive Behavior: The Tratro grow thickly in oder to prevent most aggressive attacks, but often they just grow quickly and use vines or tentacles to prevent any loss of land, fire still hurts them greatly but they use their own sap to put out fires as well as keep themselves moist to help reduce fires.
=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=General Knowledge=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=
Feeding Habits: They use meat if the meat came from something that had attacked the plants, otherwise they have no use for meat because they only use meat as a planting material and for minerals. Otherwise they are like other plants, taking in carbon dioxide and sunlight to make sugars and sap.
Reproduction: Asexual
Life Range/Maturity Ages: They have a very long life range, they just keep getting bigger and bigger as time goes on usually. Often this results in large expansive forests with creatures adapting to the new life style that used to live where the Tratro took over because often the Tratro is not a natural plant growing around.
Intelligence: Shared, the intelligence is broken up into individual sections that are dealt with by the specie types, however they are not able to talk to other sections of plant without the root system set up first to act as a communication line towards other large groups of plants. They allow for multiple hive minds, while also keeping the goal of the entire species alive; which is to overtake and grow.
Language/Communications: They use chemicals transmitted through root systems mainly to communicate.
Family Structure: Direct decedents with chance to produce off spring with anything that has a pollen based reproduction even if the pollen based reproduction is a flesh creature. The family structures are very long unless it is a recent plant that was mutated into a Tratro plant which would provide a rather short family line.
Group Activities: They don't really have much with group activities other than overtaking areas and growing; defending points are often the only difference.
Technology Level: None, they don't use it nor do they produce it.
General Response to Other Species: They usually do not bother species even if they are aggressively growing to overtake areas and claim them as their own areas, only when a creature attacks do they retaliate. When an entire area is claimed, rather than killing all creatures to start anew, it acts more like the plants were there to begin with and the creatures that live there just have to make that adaptive switch otherwise they die or have to leave before they die. That; or they fight against the Tratro non stop, because they do not quit growing. If there are plants nearby they are converted into Tratro plants, though the root system, potion/poison maker, underground/underwater minefield, seeder, and builder are the only true pure Tratro plant line, everything else is a mutated plant that became a Tratro and that is how this species is so quick to take over, it does not kill plants to take over areas, it mutates them so it does not need to.
=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=Favorites=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=
Favorite Food: Sunlight, and sugars
Favorite Place: Rich soil areas, often near rivers and streams
Favorite Outlook on Life: As smart as they are, they often only have goals like growing and overtaking a planet; other then that they are rather limited in their thought on the future and what their outlook on life is.
=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=History=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=
Major Events: After several hundred seeds rained down on a planet that had little vegetation on it, the Tratro grew quickly and claimed a large country sized area before it met with the local wildlife which was large insects(Golv). The Tratro plant was assaulted very aggressively by the Golv because the root system likely destroyed the underground tunnels and because of this the Golv and Tratro have been at war.
=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=Audience Information=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=~~=
Is the Species supposed to be Liked or Disliked? Disliked if your a plant lover, and liked if your indifferent, otherwise it could be interesting to live on a planet covered by Tratro where the ground is a death zone if not careful. Living on the builder plants and keeping off the ground to survive or to defend against the aggressively growing plant.
What makes this Species Interesting? It is a plant species that takes over planets yet does not make any real attempt to kill all the inhabitants on the planet, which differs from several invasive species that often kill all species before claiming the planet as their own. The Tratro lives with the inhabitants, so long as they adapt to the new life style.
Why Should the Audience Care? The Tratro is a forceful event that could be seen as an extinction level event, yet instead of killing all creatures it converts and nearly resets the planet to become a very lush and full forested area that would destroy most industry based species but ones that often lived in the wild might not be as affected as one may think because the Tratro converts the plant life already existing into Tratro's but they produce the same fruit and materials as they used to. Harvesting may be a little more difficult though, depending on how the Tratro handles the information it gathers or if it sees it as an attack on the plant life which it might.
Is there any Deep Meaning involved with the Species? If a planet was reset, would your species live in the new world or would it try to leave before the conversion was reset, or would you stay and battle it out with the evasive plant to try to keep it away is a question that can be asked, though an invasive plant that allows inhabitants to live afterwards on its claim is a unique perspective.
Is there any Story Involved with the Species? Defending homeland, Fighting back the growth, living with the growth, seeing what happens if a mutator's sap lands on the flesh of someone that likely would change them either into a stationary plant or depending on how aggressive the mutation is, could change the creature into a plant based creature where a cure can be searched for to return to normal.
