Commission for Celtic Man, done as a gift for my sis, Illahie, of their two chars (wolf and Irish Elk) and Duncan, Illahie's pet ferret...I made the knotwork and spirals orange and green to symbolize the colors of the Irish flag (since the location is in Newgrange, Ireland), and the kilt in the colors of Celtic Man's family tartan (or as close as I could approximate it, anyway). The flowers and jewelry are also symbolic of the chars. :) (And since many people have asked, I used only colored pencils--mainly Caran D'Ache--mechanical pencil and drawing pens, and the pic took me about 3 months to finish.)

I don't understand why you don't have hundreds of comments on this piece. It's almost a crime and one of the best pieces I've seen on FA yet. The amount of detail you put into your work just blows me away. Nevermind your anatomy and realism is absolutely incredible. This piece left me speechless. I keep looking at it and finding more surprises! Where does one learn to use colored pencils like this? :) I'm wanting to get into convential media myself. Fantastic job. Absolute A+ and definitely a fave!
Aww, thank you for the kindness! *blush* I've been using colored pencils for years and years, and trying to master the "burnishing" technique. But pics done only in colored pencils take me soooo very long to do, I now use pale-colored artist markers as my base coat, and color over them in pencils. I can color in one month what use to take 3 months up to a year to do.
Oh my goodness, this is what I get for forgetting to +watch you, I miss out on all the stunning stuff!
I had some Caran D'ache pencils as a child, they're very nice pencils if I remember correctly. I am not sure if they're sold in the US though, my mother had gotten them in Europe.
I cant imagine working 3 months on a picture, I wish I had such patience, I lose interest too quickly. If I had the will to trully put my mind to it I know I could achieve far greater things. Not as good as this, but better than my sloppy works now.
You trully inspire me. Perhaps I should try and put my mind to it again. I college I did some drawings that took 40 hours to complete.. so I -CAN- do it.
