If we're talking melee range, you have the edge. If gunfight and you don't have one, great way is to not show up XD
If you DO have a gun, center of mass, 3 shots, neck, 2 shots, head, 1 shot.
If knife fight, use your opponent's aggressiveness against them and your tai chi training to disarm them or make them whiff and counter while they're off balance XD

If you're planning on using a baton, always in motion and use it to distract as well as strike. If theyt're paying attention to the baton they're not paying attention to your free hand :p
Alternatively, find a diplomatic solution. When you make Colonel, you'll find you fight politicians as much as enemy forces :p
