actually, he may not be angry. A peacock's mating call sounds like a woman screaming for her life. It's very blood-chilling.

Oh, I know. It's not the SOUND that made me make that call, it's the *body language* on the morph.

The peacock in the video is probably territory-calling. I think (though don't quote me on this) that their inter-flock calls are much quieter.

There is an old woman who lives in the area where I patrol the border, her name is Mary Hale, but she is better known as the "peacock lady" because on her ranch she also keeps an ever increasing flock of peacocks, at night, under a full Arizona moon, tracking smugglers without a flashlight so they don't know we're following them, we crossed her property an apparently woke up a peacock who was sleeping atop a nearby bush. I am not at all ashamed to admit that both myself and my partner were scared half to death by the startled creatures unearthly wail.

We've got a peacock that lives around here, he likes to hang out in the neighbor's yards. You can hear him from inside the house when he starts calling.

You can make that sound by squeezing a blade of grass between the top and base of BOTH your thumbs, put some tension on the leave and blow between the middle sections of your thumbs. Any Peacock in the neighborhood will react by replying.

Ive never heard peacocks makin that noise. O~O The calls we used to hear where I grew up sounded mroe like dudes on helium yelling "HEY-YOU!" or "HIYAH!"
