For some reason I don't like this game as much as I should. I don't know if it's the girl's samey body proportions, one-girl voice actor, or general corniness (or the fact I absolutely suck at fighters) but.. eh.. we need more games like this. With this and Rayman Origins, we were positively spoiled with hand drawn graphics that weren't cold, harsh polygons for once and designs that were kinda nice in games that you could actually see the love and care gone into them.
I caved in. Here's a Painwheel. There's errors galore. god damn that design is harder than it looks.
Ps- Don't listen to me when I complain about skullgirls. I am like.. Tom-Preston-bad when it comes to expectations and opinions. Like, really bad.

I dunno. It all sounds like one girl being told "Ok, do a husky voice (Painwheel). Now do a cutesy voice and we'll synthesize it a bit (Peacock). Now your normal voice (Cerebella, Filia), now sound 'sexy' (Valentine)." The vocals seem to sit a little too close in the same octave..?
All the girls are skinny with exactly D cups (even when their bio says otherwise), with one or two exceptions (their basic, naked structures). I think Double is the only gal to really break the mold while still retaining some sort've female shape (until she goes back to a nun. then she's another stock girl.)
These are all petty pet peeves that irk me a lil and have nothing to do with the game's mechanics. haha Don't mind me tho, I'd still enjoy it immensely.

Yeah, of course they all sit close to the same octave--they're all females between adolescence and early 20's.
And no, they really don't all have the same proportions. You can't honestly be trying to tell me Valentine, for example, who has noticeably huge, visibly bouncing boobs shares the same proportions as, say, Filia.

Filia, Cerebella and Valentine are all the same girl. Valentine just has a lower cut front. :p They're all drawn with the same kinda stock 'big boobies', just different levels of exposure, which is fine. I guess Filia is a liiiittle wider than the others? There's subtle little differences I see if I stare at them long enough.
I'm not asking for miracles, I just prefer more variation. :p I'm sure if I redid these chicks, Filia would be the one with the hips, but I'm sure the fans will be like "eww fat" or some crap like that.

I guess. I'm sorry. I'm just used to more extreme proportions. I mean, I'm not expecting planet sized tits. I'm glad these are already big as-is for cartoon girls. I just thought there could be like.. A female Hugo. Or ganglier Painwheel like I've done. Or like.. hm.. eh, I'm just grasping at straws now. If they purposely went for the teen-range girls, then it's fine (that I didn't know!). And I think the artist is keeping these girls more rounded out to animate simpler.
To be honest I'm surprised Double is even in the mix. She's a damn tall drink of water. The animators really shine when they're doing weird stuff. It's just the normal nun form is like.. "That's it?" when I saw it. lol
