Amethyst and I met at a letterboxing panel I conducted at FCN last year. She's the only other furry letterboxer I've met yet (though I continue trying to make more).

That's so not right! Letterboxing is fantastic and I think a lot of artists would be into it fi they knew wht it was about.

I'm not 100% sure what MUCK even is. I guess it's like a really long IM/ turn based story writing thing?

I always used to tell people it was like a multi-player text adventure game, but the number of people who remember playing text adventure games is dwindling, so that doesn't help anymore either. I'm so old.

It differs from IM or IRC or anything like that because it has a persistent world. The rooms you "build" (that is, describe) stay there, and the objects you carry too, and your character, and so on. You use text commands to pick up and drop objects, walk from room to room, speak and "pose" (describe actions you're performing), look at objects (see their written description), and so on.

It's always startling to me to realize furries now often don't know what MUCKs are, since my original exposure to and contact with the fandom was through FurryMUCK (as is probably true for a lot of furries in my age group).
