
back to the sculpture XD almost done just need to add a bit more fluf under her chest and then she goes for last bake, her tail i will make of air drying clay as that goes rock solid as she will be the first one that will ship out to a different country i dont have to worry the tail will break during the trip

Wow! That's really interesting. To be honest, it looked to me as if you'd used it deliberately for the color. As far as I'm concerned, it could go without painting just because it already looks so realistic and natural just like that. XD I understand using the stronger material for the more delicate areas, though. :) I assume the body is super sculpey and the legs/ears are the sculpey firm? How difficult is sculpey firm to work with? I've only ever used air dry clays (shattered easily), kiln-dried clays, and sculpey original and super sculpey. I was worried the sculpey firm might be hard to work with.

milliput is a very good air drying clay and goes rock hard after 3+ hours :) firm is very hard to work with it needs a lot of conditioning by itself but i usually mix it with supersculpey tho just a bit so its still more firm then ss but that way it becomes a bit more workable, tho in my next project i'm gonna try kato ployclay as i heard very good things about that clay and it's supposed to be one of the strongest clays...so we will see XD
